• James Armstrong

    James left Glenmoor and Winton Academy in 2013 and went on to study Psychology, Forensic and Medical Science and Physical Education at Brockenhurst College. Once James had completed College, he began full time work. James was later given the opportunity to live in Florida for three months and learn to fly; he went on to gain a Private Pilot's License.

    James now works as an Account Director for a major business consultancy company and also plans to continue with his pilot training in the future. 

  • Jason Bunting

    Since leaving Winton Academy Jason has gone on to join the Royal Air Force as a Mechanical Engineer; he completed his basic training at RAF Halton and is now currently finishing phase two training at St Athans in Wales.

  • Winton Alumni Selected for England Squad

    Adam Grange left Winton Academy in 2015, having been supported to achieve 8 GCSEs alongside his burgeoning professional football career with Portsmouth FC.  Adam went on to be selected for the elite tier at Sparsholt Academy, where he is studying for qualifications in Sports whilst also continuing with his football. He was recently selected to join the English International Under 18s Squad and has travelled all over Europe playing for his country.

  • Winton Alumni has gained a Scholarship in rugby at Pangbourne College

    Louis Ellis was one of the first boys at Winton to take part in our London Irish Rugby Academy. Louis was trained by professional coaches and was committed to several early morning training sessions every week as well as taking part in matches after school and at the weekends. Louis balanced this with his school work and achieved a great set of GCSE results. We are delighted that he has gone on to gain a Rugby Scholarship at Pangbourne College.  Louis boards at this prestigious Sixth Form college where he is studying for A Levels and playing for the college rugby team.

    Henry Wilkinson left Winton Academy in 2011 with a host of A*s at GCSE. He went on to achieve top A Level results at a local school. On the back of these stunning results, Henry secured a place at Cambridge University, where he is currently studying History.

    Zac Andress left Winton Academy in 2015 after achieving some excellent GCSE qualifications. Zac has gone on to secure himself an apprenticeship within a large corporation as a sanction officer with a guaranteed job at the end. As well as completing his training in Canary Wharf London, Zac will also have the opportunity to travel New York, Hong Kong and Singapore within his role. Zac was an excellent pupil and has found his niche working with computers.

  • Winton Alumni Darren Barton

    Rugby enthusiast and Head Boy Darren Barton left Winton Academy in 1991.  Darren had a passion for maths and later qualified as a maths teacher, going on to work as the Head of maths at Poole High School for many years. In 2013, Darren returned to Winton Academy in the post of Assistant Headteacher. and went on to become the Principal of Nova Hreod Acedemy in Swindon, a school  recognised as one of the South West's most improved since he took over.

  • Harry Rickman

    Harry Rickman- Following the completion of his GCSEs at Winton Academy, Harry enjoyed a summer of successful golf culminating in qualifying first in Britain in the Taylormade Amateur championship and eventually finishing third in the final at the prestigious Celtic Manor venue. Harry went on to Brockenhurst college, where

     he was afforded the opportunity to pursue his passion for golf in the college's golf academy alongside studying for a levels- achieving solid results and representing the college at the British college finals. Harry has currently just completed his first year at Oxford-Brooke's University studying for a degree in History. Harry continues to remain competitive in golf, representing the men's 1st golf team with ambitions to compete further following the completion of his degree.


  • Thomas Rickman

    After leaving Winton Academy in 2010, Tom went to St Peter's school to study for A-levels. Whilst there, he developed his passion for coaching sport through sports leadership programmes and working with local schools. After achieving a good set of A-level results, Tom went on to achieve first class honours in his Physical Education and a Sports Coaching degree from the University of Chichester.  Tom's potential for coaching shone through this year when he managed Chichester men's 3rd team to league and cup success in a very difficult BUCS league, as well as through his commitment to developing a girls' football side at a local primary school. Tom is currently in America teaching golf and will be returning to University in September to study for a PGCE.
