Media Studies

Many students now take Media Studies at GCSE, either with English or English and English Literature. The course allows them to study many aspects of the Media in detail, increasing their awareness of its power and influence today. The college is offering this new, exciting course in Media as an option in Key Stage 4 leading to a single award GCSE. The GCSE is a combination of a coursework assignment and a controlled assessment.

ICT

Mrs K MaselinoICT is a core subject at Winton.

ICT is taught discretely at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In Key Stage 3 students follow the national strategy and progress is monitored by Assessing Pupil Progress (APP) each term. Students cover a range of topics including; Control and monitoring, databases, spreadsheets and web publishing.

Religious Studies (RS)

RS at Winton is offering a great challenge to the boys to consider the world around them, from family to friends, local to national to world issues. All boys study RS from Year 7 right through to Year 11. The once-weekly lesson provides an opportunity to reflect on life issues, to enable students to consider and strengthen their own responses to living in a multicultural society.
