Winton College

A message from the Head Boy 2010/2011

E-mail Print PDF
It is with great pride that I take on the role of Head Boy this year when the school is going through an exciting phase in its long history. I want the students to know that they can come and talk to myself or any of the senior prefect team whenever they wish and we will be open to all their ideas and do our best to make them a reality.

This year I would like the year 7's to feel as though they can approach any older boy in the school for help and would like the older boys to invite them to do so. I also want them to know that they have joined a GREAT Winton community which I am sure they will soon come to realise. I would like all boys to be open about their many talents so that we can celebrate their achievements together.

I want everyone to remember a quote from the poem Invictus which inspired Nelson Mandela

"I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul"

Again this reiterates that whatever you put into life, it will reward you accordingly and you are the only person responsible for your achievements. Everyone in this school has the ability to achieve and if you do one thing this year it should be to set yourself a goal and try your best to reach it. I wish everyone here a happy and successful year.
