PASSWORD RESETS

All parents/students should be able to reset their passwords from home using the Microsoft Self Reset feature.

https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

If you no longer have Microsoft Authenticator, or have changed the phone number you set up the account with, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk and ask for the account to be reset.

Once the account is reset then students can sign in to office.com, senecalearning.com, sparxmaths.uk, sparxreader.com and satchelone.com using their Office 365 (Microsoft) account. Students must not type their email address and password directly into the homework services, instead they must click on the button that says 'continue with Office 365' or 'sign in with Microsoft'.

Detailed instructions are in the section below.

Technical Support

Please read the information below carefully. If your question has not been answered in the information below, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk. Our helpdesk aims to respond to queries within 24 working hours, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, excluding holidays.
  • Active Learn

Active Learn is used by our KS4 MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) students. Students should have been given a password by their MFL teacher.

    https://www.pearsonactivelearn.com/app/Home

If you are using ActiveLearn, you can use the self-help options to reset your password. If you have not set up any memorable questions and/or your teacher has not added an email address to your account, then these will unfortunately not work and you will need to ask your teacher to reset your password.

  • Hegarty Maths (KS4)

Hegarty Maths https://hegartymaths.com/ is our online maths platform for current KS4 students.

To log in visit https://hegartymaths.com/login/learner and enter the student's details.

If you have forgotten a password, it will need to be reset by a teacher. To request this, visit https://hegartymaths.com/login/learner and fill in the student details. There will then be a link to request a password reset from the teacher.

  • Office 365

Microsoft Office https://office.com is the software we use for the following:

    • Student emails. Students can send and receive emails using their own email. If they are wanting to contact teachers directly from home they must use their student email, not their personal email as we can't reply to those.
    • Microsoft Teams. The Academies use Teams for clubs, online learning and information sharing. Examples of our online clubs are Library and DofE.
    • Sharepoint/OneDrive. Students can store and share files with teachers and other students. This is particularly useful when sharing a large file with a teacher, for example music or multimedia homework.
    • Microsoft software. The Academies' license allows students to either use the online browser-based software or to download Microsoft software to their home computers. This includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Password resets for Show My Homework and Office.com (also for Seneca Learning if the account was set up using the 'Continue with Microsoft' option).

To reset a password from home, do the following:

    1. Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
    2. Type in the student's email address
    3. This will then send a code to the method you selected when you set up the student's Office.com account for the first time. For some parents/students this will be Microsoft Authenticator, for others it will be a code sent to a mobile phone or email address.
    4. Create a strong password. It must be at least 8 characters long, with two numbers, a capital letter and a symbol. You cannot use any part of the school's name, student's name or common words such as 'password'. Please click here to read a guide on creating a strong password.

If you do not receive a code for a password reset, please email smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk.

It is important to note that this will also change the password for Show My Homework and the school computers.

If you have set up Seneca using the 'continue with Microsoft' option then it will change the password for this service as well.

If a student cannot access their school emails, then they will need a password reset, which will reset their Show My Homework and Office.com log in details. This password reset can be requested from smhw@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk or by following the password reset steps above.

    Troubleshooting

    • Incorrect username - If you are not signing in using Microsoft Office then please ensure that you are not using the email address. jbloggs22@glenmoorandwinton.org.uk would be incorrect. jbloggs22 would be correct. This is only if you are signing in using the built-in Show My Homework log-in page. We recommend all students sign in using Microsoft Office.
    • If quizzes are only displaying the first question or won't let a submission be made, it is likely that you are logged in to the parent account. Please log out of the account, clear the cache and log back in with the student's school account.
    • Errors when trying to view a page - please clear the cache following this guide and try signing in again (please note the guide opens in a new window)
    • Incorrect password - please use the same password that is used to sign in to the school computers and Office.com. Passwords are case sensitive - for example if your password is Password01 then you cannot sign in if you type password01. You cannot reset passwords from Show My Homework, it has to be done from the following page, using the student school email address: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
    • Homework from old set still showing - If your child has recently changed sets, it will only change homework moving forward from the date that the class was changed on Arbor (our MIS). Old homework from the previous set will remain on the calendar and task list until it is marked as completed on the task list by the student. It takes 24 hours to change to the new class or set after it is changed on Arbor.
Important note: Students must log in with their school account. Students cannot submit homework via the parents' account. You can check which account you are logged in to by looking at the top left hand side of the screen. If logged in to the child's account, their name and profile photo will be visible.
