I am very proud, honoured, and thankful to have the opportunity to be Head Boy this year at Glenmoor and Winton Academies. This Academic year, with the support of the Head Girl Amy Cooper, and the leadership team, I am very determined to help provide all students with the correct support that they need in school so that they may learn to the best of their ability. We also aim to make the school a comfortable environment for everybody by creating a greater sense of community within the school in order to make GW even more all-inclusive. As students at GW, we are not only taught academic skills which help us pass our exams, but we are also taught the necessary skills we need for us to become more rounded individuals after we leave the school. Examples of this is the one-to-one careers talks given by the career's advisor or the emphasis on the schools' values of integrity, compassion, and courage. By becoming Head Boy, I would like to be a role model to all students by showing the values of the school as best as I can. The amount of opportunities available at GW is amazing as I believe there is an activity that can interest everyone from abroad sports trips to performing arts trips and academic subject trips such as the geography trip to Iceland. I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to be Head Boy and I cannot wait to start influencing positive change within the school.
